How to accomplish more than ever before!
(This is a mutually beneficial process.)
Wow, this year is going by so fast. Even though Thanksgiving was a week early this year, I feel like it is a non-stop race to the end of the year. New Years is just around the corner. With so much that I want to accomplish between now and then, I really need to stay focused. I have found a great technique to help me make sure that I attain all the goals I set for myself this year.
I have an accountability partner. An accountability partner is someone who helps you keep on track to ensure you accomplish those goals that are most important to you!
How it works is very simple. You find someone you can talk to on a regular basis. It can be a friend, a business partner, someone from your mastermind group, or just someone you met in a forum. You each pick a consistent time you can talk for 15 minutes. It can be every day, three times a week, or even once a week, as long as you pick a consistent time and commit to having the call on a regular basis. It is very important that you pick a consistent day and time to have these calls, otherwise it becomes too easy to let them start to slip and the whole process will fall apart.
This is a mutually beneficial process. During those 15 minutes you each take turns making sure you accomplished the goals you set during the last call and outline your goals for the next call. You can each provide a little advice to the other person, however, you need to stay focused on your goals. This is not a time for social chit-chat.
Why this works: You are each holding the other person accountable by making sure that they have done what he or she has said they would do and you do not let them off the hook easily. Of course, they do the same for you. Once you tell someone you are going to do something thing you feel a commitment to do it. Once you have created this form of accountability you will make sure you accomplish what you said you would. It is a type of guilt. It does not matter if you do your tasks right after you hang up; just before you make the call, or any time in between you will find that you feel compelled to complete your task.
With all the little distractions we run into each day, picking the right goal for each call can have monumental results.
Try this. You will be amazed with the results.
