More Little Things To Help...
("It is the little things that get you, that put you on the rack. You can sit upon a mountain, but not upon a tack.")
Hi {firstname},
I apologize that it has been so long since I sent out the last newsletter. It has been buzzing around here!
In the last newsletter, I talked about how little things mean a lot. I promised that this time would give some more examples. of how to look at it.
But before I get into those examples, I wanted to share a little idiom I heard as a child:
"It is the little things that get you, that put you on the rack. You can sit upon a mountain, but not upon a tack."
Though this really refers to ones emotional state, it is relevant in making you think about the impact small things can have.
Here are two other two other examples of how to look at the compounding effect of little things:
Now, imagine you have an internet business. An internet business is really just like a store. A store usually does not sell just one product that keeps it in business, it sells many products. Each one makes a small profit and when you add them all together, the store does a successful business. A good way to get started with an internet business is to create a very niche website to sell one product. It is very hard to find the one golden product that will make you millions of dollars. However, it is easy to find one that will make you a few hundred or a few thousand dollars a month. Once you have done that, you just repeat the process over and over again with new products and new sites. They will start to add up and before you know it, the money will be quite significant.
Second, imagine you have an internet business. You have probably heard of marketing gurus who have made millions on the internet overnight. They make it sound so quick and easy. It can be quick and it can be easy, but in reality it did not happen over night. They did one small promotion after another time and time again, learning their tricks of the trade and perfecting their techniques. Then they spent months putting together their promotional materials, building their campaign, and advertising the upcoming launch. Then they do the big release and overnight, they make a million dollars! You see, it appeared to be one BIG success, but it was really the result of many little steps and many little successes along the way.
