Ae You A Deer Caught In The Headlights?
(In reality either alternative would certainly be much better than no decision at all.)

Many years ago when I was in college, I was driving down a dark road late at night. Don't ask where I was coming from :-) As I came over a hill my car came face to face with a deer. The deer started to dart to the right then to the left then froze in confusion and did not move. I ended up having to swerve out of the way at the last minute and flipped my car, landing upside down. Had the deer made a decision right away, to go either left or right, I would have been able to respond sooner and both the deer and I would have been okay.

The same is true when it comes to business. There are times when you need to be able to make quick decisions. Many people are afraid to make a decision. They will debate and analyze the alternatives until it is too late. Chance are that if you cannot decide it is because either alternative is a good one. In reality either alternative would certainly be much better than no decision at all.

Don't be like that deer. Do not be afraid to make a decision and move on. Best case you will hit a home run. Worst case, you will learn something that you can use for next time and make a few adjustments as you move forward.
